Ingredients
Idli Batter, to make 12 idlies.
1/2 cup onions, chopped
1/2 cup carrots, grated
1 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped
salt to taste
a pinch baking soda
water
Method
- Add the baking soda to water (depending on how much you have to add the idli batter).
- Mix the onion, carrot, water and salt to taste to the idli batter.
- Steam the idlis. (Cook them how you would normally).

Masala idlis remind me of one of the pushcart idli shops in Jayanagar, Blr where there wd be a huge crowd. The shop guys used to make yummy Masala idlis and softtttt rice idlis. Very nice posting.
